What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and concentration. Many people compare it to becoming completely absorbed in a book, film, or activity, or to a guided meditation.

Hypnosis has been studied for decades across various scientific disciplines, including psychology and neuroscience.

At Heart of Language, hypnosis is used as part of the lesson structure to support a focused and relaxed learning environment.

Will I still be in control during hypnosis?

Yes. During hypnosis, you remain fully present and in control.

You can hear the teacher, open your eyes, and pause the lesson if necessary. Hypnosis is not a form of sleep or unconsciousness.

Do I need to believe in hypnosis to take part?

No. Hypnosis is part of our teaching method, but you do not need to hold any particular beliefs about it in order to participate in the lessons.

What if I have never experienced hypnosis before?

That is not a problem. Many of our learners have no previous experience with hypnosis when they begin.

Your teacher will guide you through the process step by step.

What does a lesson look like?

Most lessons consist of three phases.

First, you are introduced to new words, sentences, or dialogues within the hypnosis phase. Next, you work together with your teacher on pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and communication outside of hypnosis. In the final phase, the new language elements are further consolidated within the lesson structure using hypnosis.

Are the lessons individual?

Yes. We offer individual lessons as well as two-person courses.

This allows the course to be fully adapted to your level, goals, and learning pace.

Do I receive lesson recordings?

Yes. After each lesson, you receive a short recording from your own lesson.

Many learners use these recordings between lessons to continue hearing and using the language on a regular basis.

Will I receive homework?

This varies from one learner to another.

In addition to the recordings, your teacher may recommend exercises or activities that support your learning goals.

How often can I take lessons?

That is entirely up to you.

Some learners take lessons on a weekly basis, while others choose a more intensive programme. Together, we create a schedule that fits your availability and objectives.

When can lessons take place?

Lessons can take place during the day, in the evenings, or at weekends.

Together, we find a schedule that best fits your availability and goals.

The course content is adapted to your current level.

Can I learn a language for work?
